The burr set is constructed using a high nitrogen stainless steel which is the optimum material for an ultra hard and sharp edge surface with maximum longevity and resistance. Engineered to achieve the highest performance of grind particle distribution and consistency Varia's burr design utilizes advanced geometries and tolerances providing an extremely consistent grind result with a highly refined particle distribution from coarse grind sizes for manual brewing to fine grind sizes for espresso.  It also features a dual ball bearing drive assembly which ensures an ultra smooth and stable function. 

All packaged in a handy zipper travel case to take it with you wherever you brew! It even has room for coffee and papers inside too!!

Nicely machined

Seems like a quality machining of the primary parts. The crank handle seems a little cheap compared to the rest of the grinder.
Produces a consistent grind and is capable of very fine adjustment.
Kinda time consuming (at least for fine grinds).

Great grinder

At first I was thinking I made a mistake getting this grinder. But after doing some research on grind size for different brewing styles I felt better. It's very well made and has a premium feel to it. I find the coffee grinds are even with little fines.
The aroma from fresh ground coffee is amazing.
