Gaggia Classic Evo Pro

by Gaggia
$649.00

The Gaggia Classic Evo Pro is the best-in-class espresso machine, equipped with strong commercial parts that push it ahead of middling coffee appliances from the local store.

The Gaggia Classic Evo Pro is the latest iteration of the Classic and features several key updates including 9 bar extractions, inert coating to prevent corrosion and scale formation in the boiler, stainless steel portafilter,  and polished steel group cover. The Evo Pro also includes an updated mounting plate to secure the pump and boiler and reduce noise generated by vibration. Designed and made in Italy, and with roots in the origins of espresso itself, the Gaggia Classic Evo Pro offers full control and capability for real, café quality espressos, lattes, cappuccinos, and more. There is no machine with better value than this Gaggia coffee machine.

Features:

  • Commercial Steam Wand: The commercial style steam wand comes equipped with a two-hole tip to perfectly craft velvety microfoam for lattes, cappuccinos, and more. The microfoam created by the commercial steam wand is tight enough for high quality latte art.
  • Mechanical Rocker Switch:  Made of the same durable material used on commercial products, the independent precision rocker switches offer a satisfying snap when flipping the controls.
  • Stainless Steel Body:  The Classic Evo Pro's body is constructed of one-piece 17-gauge stainless steel, no plastic veneer or thin steel.
  • Commercial Portafilter: The 58 mm stainless steel portafilter is the same used on commercial machines. It weighs in at 1 lbs, a full 13% heavier than competing 54 mm portafilters.
  • 3 Way Solenoid Valve: The three-way solenoid valve relieves the pressure in the portafilter immediately after pulling a shot.  This leaves the coffee puck dry, making it easy to clean and pull the next shot.

Gaggia Classic Evo Pro FAQ

Is the Gaggia Classic Evo Pro a good espresso machine for beginners?

Yes, it's a popular choice for beginners due to its affordability and relatively user-friendly design compared to other prosumer machines.

Is the Gaggia Classic Evo Pro easy to maintain?

It requires regular cleaning and descaling, but the process is not overly complicated.

How consistent are the shots of espresso from the Gaggia Classic Evo Pro?

With practice and good technique, you can pull consistent shots. However, it’s a single-boiler machine, so there might be a short wait between steaming milk and pulling a shot. You might always want to check out some guides on temperature surfing on the Gaggia, so you can ensure that you're hitting a consistent brew temp as there is a bit of a range otherwise that can make consistent shots more difficult.

How does the Gaggia Classic Evo Pro compare to other machines in its price range?

It's known for its durability, value for money, and ability to produce high-quality espresso with some practice.

Everything I'd hoped for

I've wanted this machine for years as an upgrade from my Breville machine. Upon arrival it did not disappoint!!!! It was everything I expected and more. The build quality and beauty are unreal for this price point. My experience with the folks at Coffee Addicts has been the best customer service I have experienced in a long time. Samantha was amazing in making sure my machine was shipped across the country to me in Nova Scotia without a concern, and Chase was more than helpful, not to mention very pleasant! When my machine arrived I was pleasantly surprised by a nice letter and a bag of coffee beans as a surprise. This just shows how much these wonderful folks care about their business and customers. This purchase was my long awaited Gaggia Classic Pro Evo in the Thunder Black (which is absolutely stunning in person) and a Motta wood handled Tamper, a knock box and a matte finish Motta Tulip frothing pitcher. All the items arrived safely and I have no complaints at all. I know I have many more coffee related purchases and there is no doubt I will be ordering from these lovely people again! Thanks to all of you at Coffee Addicts. I wish we had you here on the East Coast! Cheers!

Great machine, wonderful service

Finally fixed my old Gaggia Classic, and ordered a bunch of new parts from Coffee Addicts. The next day the "fixed" machine started smoking, and I had to cancel my order at the last minute.

At no time did anyone give me a hard time, and when I decided to get a new Gaggia Classic, they were incredibly helpful and quick to respond to my many questions - you've made a lifetime customer out of me!

Best starter espresso machine

This is the best starter espresso machine for the home barista. This machine has the potential to pull high quality shots that you could get from a machine 10 times its price. It has a commercial 58mm portafilter and steam wand so you have choices in the aftermarket. You'll need to budget for a tamper as it doesn't come with anything you could use (it's plastic).

As delivered, you'll need to work to pull good shots, checkout YouTube on how to temperature surf for brew and steam. There is a large modification community to upgrade your Gaggia Classic Pro on a budget. You can get a PID mod to get perfect temperatures, dimmers to control the water pump so you can adjust flow rate on the fly. There is even a Gagguino modification that can turn your Gaggia Classic into a fully adjustable/programmable machine similar to a Decent Espresso machine worth $6K for less than $200 and an evening of work.

This machine can be fully rebuilt/repaired so it will last for decades. These are the reasons I bought mine. I'm currently waiting for delivery of the Gagguino kit.

Great machine for hands on learning

This purchase was made upon recommendation from my barber, a barista of many years, and an imminent cafe owner. It combines all of the features and options to build out a stand-out system at a great price point. The simplicity of the machine is a key feature, and it motivates you to learn about time, grind size, weight, etc. etc. etc. The colour is fantastic in person, and it looks like miniature professional machine on our counter. I love using it daily, and it has been a huge timesaver compared to our pour-over practice for the last 5 years. Thank you CoffeeAddicts for you advice on the accessories, and the grinder. They are an incredible team. (DF64ELR-grinder)
