La Pavoni Europiccola

A combination of style, quality and reliability.

The iconic La Pavoni Europiccola lever machine has been continuously evolving since its introduction in 1961. Making espresso is often referred to as being an art and with the Europiccola you push the art to a whole new level.  Lifting the lever raises the piston inside the group, allowing the water in the boiler to enter the brewing group and mix with the colder water. It reaches the right temperature and pre-infuses the coffee in the filter holder. The lever is then lowered, causing the piston to force the water through the coffee into the cup. The user therefore can vary the speed at which the water passes through the coffee, enabling a level of control not possible on an electric pump machine.

The Europiccola is also built to last due to the quality of the materials and its simplicity. This machine is largely constructed of cast brass with triple-plated chrome design.  The La Pavoni lever machines have a cult following and you will immediately understand why once you start experimenting with it.

Features:

  • Fast warm up:  Ready in 5 minutes due to the powerful stainless steel element combined with a 0.8L brass boiler.
  • Integrated Steam Wand: Craft beautiful milk based drinks with the integrated steam want featuring a 2 hole steam tip.
  • Water Level Indicator:  Convenient water level indicator so you always know how much water you have left and never le your boiler run dry.
  • Built to last: The Europiccola is mostly built of brass and it's simplicity means that a lot less can go wrong.
  • It's a lever machine  Lever machines can be very forgiving thanks to their gentle pre-infusion and the soft ramp up to full pressure.  It also allows the user to be in complete control of the pressure throughout the entire brewing. process

Europiccola love!

I'm still learning the ins and outs of this work of art but I've had some amazing espresso with crema so I'm on the right track! The machine is gorgeously low tech, demands attention but the pay off is so worth it! I highly recommend this machine to anyone who doesn't need to make too many cups at a time. Coffee Addicts has great customer service and the machine with gift of some coffee arrived in no time.

New Europiccola

I have had this machine for 14 days now and so far it has been amazing. It’s small yet sturdy and even my first shot that came out like the dreaded bond shot was still drinkable. Now I only need to Lear hot to steam with it.

Excellent iconic machine

Absolutely love this unit. Take a bit of practise but is truly rewarding when you get the hang of it. The sakes team was very helpful and shipping was quick and on time. I would order from them again and highly recommend the europiccola.

Great machine if you're willing to learn.

Out if the box this machine will produce decent results. I recommend replacing the 3 hole steam nozzle with a single hole. Especially if you are planning to make nice microfoam milk drinks. Very difficult to direct liquid flow otherwise. No complaints with the lever mechanism aside with potentially the way its fastened to the machine and the group head could maybe be a little bigger to accommodate reliable double shots. Altogether I would expect the machine to be a little sturdier given the heritage and parts utilized, but I've noticed a little creaking and flex when applying pressure to the lever. Once you get beyond all that you can bet the europiccola will last a long time and given the abundance of spare parts and relative analog simplicity potentially a lifetime or more.
Also be sure to get a replacement tamper. The plastic "tamper" that comes with the machine is a complete waste of time.
