This is the gen 1 version of the grinder that does not have the plasma generator.

The DF64V is the latest innovation by the team that brought you the DF64 grinder.  It combines 64mm burrs with a variable speed brushless DC motor to deliver consistency, minimum clumping and a fluffy grind.  Designed with quality and performance in mind; the DF64V features DLC (Diamond-Like-Coating) burrs, removable chute, durable painted aluminum body, metal dosing cup and wood accents. 

The DF64V was designed as a multipurpose grinder and performs across the full range from pour over to espresso.  The extremely low retention (ELR), compact size, stepless adjustment and variable speed make it a perfect grinder for any coffee enthusiast.

Features:

  • Variable Speed: Brushless 300W DC motor with variable speed control from 600-1800RPM.   Stalling or clogging may occur if using low RPM for fine grinds.
  • Single dosing: No hopper design combined with the blowing hopper means no stale coffee; only put in the exact amount of beans needed.
  • 64mm DLC flat burrs: Comes standard with 64mm DLC (Diamond-like-coating) flat burrs that will last 10x longer than standard steel burrs (~3000kg).  
  • Extremely low retention (ELR): The DF64V has been designed to minimizes retention.
  • Stepless Micrometric Adjustments: Unlimited adjustments with the stepless adjustment collar.
  • Easy to clean:  Simply unscrew the collar all the way to access and clean the burrs.  The DF64V also features a magnetic chute that can easily be removed for cleaning.

Fantastic Grinder

My wife and I jumped into the coffee hobby and got this grinder. I just gotta say, it is quite the game changer, I have never had coffee this good at home.

I mean, is it pricey? Sure but it is not the most expensive for what you get, the ability to dial in each bean is amazing.

Do yourself a favour and get this puppy, because it’ll change your final product for the best!

Game changer...

Graduated to the df64v from a 40mm conical burr stepped grinder. In a word: what a complete and utter game changer.

This is the second upgrade after briefly having tried an Italian commercial monstrosity that was very nice but just not setup for single dosing. I wrestled with the old grinder for a full weekend and could simply not get consistent results. With the df64v, I had it dialed in on the third shot I pulled with it.

From a taste, and workflow standpoint, this grinder is an absolute win. Also, I am especially grateful to the coffeeaddicts team for the amazing Black Friday sale price.

Working Great

I bought this on the Pre-Release sale. First, it works wonderfully and has plenty of room for even a finer grind if required. My Eureka could not get fine enough with the lighter roasts; this grinder was no problem. A couple of things I’m not keen on. For the dosing cup, they could have refined it a little more, and I’m not big on the natural wood pieces. I’d rather they be dark-coloured or aluminum for easier cleaning. The only real complaint is the hideous sound when grinding and not grinding; it's silent, but dang, it's a horrible sound during the grinding phase. As others have stated you have to hot start it will stall in many cases, 100% if your doing a low RMP grind. I am very happy with the grinder and look forward to many many happy espresso and pour over with this on my counter.

Amazing Grinder

Purchased this grinder and received it since the beginning of July and did not regret the decision to do so. It was a huge upgrade from my Baratza Virtuoso and boy did it make a difference for both espresso and pour overs. The unit is super quiet and was able to grind though most of my lighter roasts but does require a hot start for finer settings. Its also super easy to clean. Great buy!
