Our coffee wall has been getting significant updates, one of them being Cafe Jindo at the recommendation of our very own Bryce (infamous from our instagram). We have just started carrying several picks from them, and I am so impressed! The packaging is very nice, but the prices are quite reasonable and reflect quite honestly the cost of producing the final roasted coffee. Currently I’m the most into the Pluot Orbit, with notes of plum, grapefruit and black tea, it’s whimsical but approachable.
Bryce and I actually went to the cafe last Tuesday, first time for me and a repeat visit for him. The space is clearly one working in the confines of Calgary rental availability for commercial, but it feels intentional and cared about. We were served by the owner, who also does his own roasting. The coffee was great (obviously) and the pastries were a tasty quick breakfast.
I would definitely recommend Cafe Jindo for their coffee, but also for a visit to the space. Prices are fair, food is good, and it has a cool atmosphere without feeling pretentious or condescending, and unlike more central popular shops, you can always find a table.
Small roasters are everywhere in Calgary! Finding one that suits your general tastes is like finding a favorite restaurant. Sometimes something new may be on the menu, but you feel more comfortable branching out as you already have that previous relationship.
