The size of portafilter you need depends on the size of your group head. Breville espresso machines come with 2 sizes of group head, a 54mm and a 58mm. The size of the group head depends on which Breville model you have. Use the chart below to help you find the right sized portafilter for your Breville machine.

Breville Bottomless Portafilters Vs Spouted Portafilters
Any Breville espresso machine can use either a traditional spouted portafilter or a bottomless or naked portafilter - you just have to make sure the portafilter you choose is the right size to match the size of your group head. So if you have a Breville Barista Express, you could use either a 54mm bottomless portafilter or a 54mm spouted portafilter. If you have a Breville Dual Boiler, you could use either a 58mm spouted or a 58mm bottomless portafilter.
