Jobneel Caceres Dios and his wife Fany were the first farmers Tim Wendelboe bought directly from, back in 2009. Over the years, that relationship has allowed them to systematically improve quality to the point where their coffees are now among the finest in the Santa Bárbara Mountain region, an area widely regarded as producing Honduras' best. Finca el Vikingo is a newer chapter in that story: a small two-hectare farm that Jobneel purchased in El Sauce and planted entirely with Geisha in 2019. Situated in a natural mini-valley between 1450 and 1490 metres, surrounded by forest and shaded by native inga and avocado trees, the microclimate here is uniquely suited to coaxing out Geisha's most delicate characteristics.
The Finca el Vikingo is a washed Geisha with the kind of quiet, refined presence the variety is celebrated for. Delicate florals open the cup with an almost herbal elegance, citrus adds a clean, gentle brightness, and the whole experience has the kind of understated complexity that rewards careful brewing and slow sipping.
