The second iteration of Escape Coffee Roasters’ Tropical series marks a return to the Amazonas region of Peru, specifically the high-elevation slopes of La Palmera. Produced by Mercedes Carranza Montenegro and her family, this lot consists entirely of the coveted Geisha variety. By employing a meticulous natural process at 1500 metres above sea level, the producers have managed to capture a profile that leans into the exotic while maintaining the elegance expected of this lineage.
The cup opens with vibrant notes of papaya and mango, illustrating a terroir-driven clarity that defines the best of Peruvian Geisha. As the coffee cools, the fruit profile softens into a silky, sweet-cream texture that coats the palate without overwhelming the delicate floral structure. A fleeting opportunity to experience the Geisha variety at its most articulate: secure your bag before the window closes.
To reach the sweet spot for this coffee, Escape Coffee Roasters recommends the following parameters:
- Drip: 1:17 Ratio
- Espresso Yield: 1:2.5 Ratio
- Time: 32 seconds
These settings are designed to highlight the tropical fruit complexity while maintaining the delicate cream-like finish.

Our Coffee Addicts Promise
We’re passionate about fresh, flavourful coffee and we know you are too. For the best taste, enjoy your coffee within approximately 6 weeks of the roast date.
Coffee naturally oxidizes slowly over time, but it can still be enjoyed beyond this window. Any beans older than six weeks from roast are clearly marked and automatically discounted, giving you a great value on quality coffee.
