Cielito Lindo sits at the very top of the El Cielito branch of the Santa Bárbara Mountain in Honduras, owned by Extreberto Caceres Gutierrez and now managed by his son Jobneel Caceres Dios. At well over 80 years old, Extreberto can no longer make the steep climb himself: the only access to the farm is on foot up treacherous trails, and the only way to bring the coffee down is by donkey. Jobneel handles the hard work while his father helps with drying and sorting. Tim Wendelboe first bought Cielito Lindo coffee at the Cup of Excellence in 2008, genuinely shocked to discover that such a remarkable, fruity cup came from Ihcafe 90, a Catimor hybrid long considered to have limited quality potential. That coffee sent him to the farm in 2009, where he met Jobneel instead of Extreberto, and began one of the most enduring direct-trade relationships in his roastery's history.
The Cielito Lindo proves the rule has exceptions. Ihcafe 90 at this altitude, in this cool and moist microclimate, produces something remarkable: forest berries with vivid brightness, a herbal complexity that adds depth and intrigue, and cacao nibs providing a rich, lingering finish. It has placed in the top ten at the Honduran Cup of Excellence multiple times, and Tim Wendelboe won the Nordic Roaster Competition with it in 2019. A fleeting opportunity to experience one of Honduras' most storied small lots at its most articulate: secure your bag before this one disappears back up the mountain.

Our Coffee Addicts Promise
We're passionate about fresh, flavourful coffee and we know you are too. For the best taste, enjoy your coffee within approximately 6 weeks of the roast date.
Coffee naturally oxidizes slowly over time, but it can still be enjoyed beyond this window. Any beans older than six weeks from roast are clearly marked and automatically discounted, giving you a great value on quality coffee.
