Better than I thought it was going to be.

I’v been single dowsing through the stock hopper on my Barista Pro for a while now. Every time I went to clean the burrs, there would be chunks of old coffee beans packed in around the top of burrs, that I’d have to vacuum out. Additionally, since the grounds don’t drop straight through, there is a fair bit of retention (a couple grams worth).

With this single dose bellow, retention is down, the top of the but set isn’t getting packed with chunks of old beans, and I can fit more on top of my machine.

If I had to complain about something, it would probably be the color. It doesn’t really match anything on the machine. Anodized black or a statement color like bright red or bright orange, would probably look better than the gray.

Works well. Be sure to use the bellow!

I was looking for a single dose hopper For my Breville barista express. After a fair bit of research, I decided on this model. It is a little bit tall to slide under my upper cabinets. So I did end up trimming off about half an inch of the Bellow. There is a fairly large Straight piece at the bottom that does allow for this. I do like grinding single dose however, I feel like if I weigh out a single dose and put it in the original hopper., I would probably end up with a little bit less work. I find that there’s still can be situations where there is may be a little bit of coffee left over even after blowing out the Bellow and you end up with a little bit more than 18 g and there’s times where it’s a little bit less than 18 g, so I typically end up weighing my Port afilter and basket each time anyway even though I weigh out my coffee prior to grinding. I think that would be the right recommendation I would make. Stick with the original hopper weigh out 18 g but always weigh your port afilter prior to brewing. Would save you the money of this hopper, and would make sure that you have a consistent 18 g in the actual basket . No knock on the product, just my recommendation as I was hoping that weight in would equal weight out consistently but that has not been my experience. Picture is after I cut the 1/2 inch off the bellow so it fits.
