You just bought a new plumbed in espresso machine and are reading the installation instructions. You notice that the installation instructions say that the maximum pressure is 2-3 bars (30-45 PSI) but the typically city water pressure in Canada is 4-5.5 bars (60-80 PSI).
This adjustable water pressure regulator can be set between 2-8 bars and will also protect your espresso machine against water pressure fluctuations. It has a 3/8 BSP connection so that it can connect directly to your BWT Besthead. It even comes with a built-in gauge!

Most residential and commercial espresso machines specify a maximum inlet water pressure of 2–3 bars (30–45 PSI). Canadian municipal water supply typically runs at 4–5.5 bars (60–80 PSI) — well above that spec. Connecting a machine directly to the mains without pressure regulation means the machine's internal components, solenoid valves, seals, and fittings are operating at or above their pressure ceiling from day one. Over time this causes premature wear, seal failure, and potential damage to internal waterways. A pressure reducing valve (PRV) installed on the incoming line solves this cleanly — reducing the supply pressure to a level within the machine's rated operating range before the water reaches the machine.
