Coffee is more than 98% water, and the mineral composition of that water directly affects extraction, flavour clarity, and the long-term health of your equipment. Hard water — high in calcium and magnesium carbonates — causes limescale buildup in boilers, group heads, and heat exchangers, which reduces thermal efficiency, affects flow rate, and eventually requires descaling or component replacement. Magnesium Technology — The Premium Difference

Important: Filter Head Required Separately
The Bestmax Premium is a filter cartridge — it requires a compatible filter head to operate. If you do not already own a BWT Besthead, you must order it separately. The BWT Besthead Quick-Change Filter Head is available at Coffee Addicts and is compatible with all Bestmax filter sizes. The filter itself can be oriented horizontally or vertically depending on your installation, and includes an automatic shut-off valve that activates when changing the cartridge, plus a backflow shut-off valve integrated in the filter head — both preventing spillage and contamination during filter swaps. When reordering, confirm you are ordering the Bestmax Premium (this product) rather than the standard Bestmax, as the two share similar packaging but differ in the Magnesium Technology stage.
