The Maintenance Step Filter Coffee Equipment Needs
Filter coffee equipment accumulates coffee oils and staining differently from espresso machines — and needs a different cleaning approach. Brew baskets, thermal servers, air pots, and glass coffee pots develop oily residue and brown staining from repeated contact with brewed coffee, which dulls flavour clarity and can impart a stale, bitter taste to subsequent brews if left to build up. Cafetto Brew Clean is formulated specifically for this equipment: a powder cleaner that runs through the brewing cycle of commercial and domestic filter brewers, removing coffee oils and stains from baskets, servers, and dispensing components without requiring disassembly or manual scrubbing.

How It Works — Through the Brew Cycle
The cleaning process is designed around the brewing equipment's own cycle. Add one scoop (4g) of Brew Clean per litre of water capacity to the brew basket, ensure the coffee server or air pot is positioned underneath, and activate a normal brewing cycle — the cleaning solution flows through the basket and into the server exactly as coffee would. When the cycle finishes, rinse the brew basket in fresh water. Leave the solution in the server for a minimum of 15 minutes to allow it to work on internal staining, then drain and rinse thoroughly with fresh water before returning the server to service. This approach reaches the internal surfaces of servers and air pots that can't be accessed by hand-washing alone. Available in a 500g jar; at 4g per litre, a 500g jar provides approximately 125 full cleaning cycles.

Brew Clean is recommended for commercial and domestic filter coffee equipment including American Metal Ware, Animo, Bravilor, Bunn, Coffee Queen, Fetco, Grindmaster, Marco, and domestic coffee brewers including Breville and Technivorm Moccamaster. It is safe to use and non-corrosive across all compatible equipment materials. Brew Clean is the filter coffee equivalent of Cafetto's espresso cleaning range — addressing the same problem of coffee oil and residue accumulation, but formulated and dosed for filter equipment and brewing volumes rather than espresso machine group heads and portafilters.
