These coffee machine baskets are developed in 1.1mm stainless steel, CNC finished to be perfectly cylindrical and with laser cut holes at the bottom that expands in circles all the way to the outer edge of the bottom surface. The added thickness improves the rigidity of the puck during extraction by not allowing the bottom face to bow outwards and the laser-cut holes are extremely accurate and allow for a higher open surface area that offers less resistance to the water flow during the extraction.

Why is the Pesado HE basket better than other precision baskets:
- The He[%] filter basket is produced using CNC machining and laser cut hole technology, VST or IMS baskets are a pressed product, and both hole and shape are created by press and polish machines.
- Pesado He[%] basket uses 1.1mm thick steel and is perfectly cylindrical, while IMS/VST uses a thinner layer of steel and the top diameter is different from the bottom diameter.
- Pesado He[%] coffee basket has an overall more significant amount of holes and open surface area compared to IMS and VST. The laser technology allows the holes of HE to be closer to the edges.

Unlike standard pressed baskets, the He[%] uses CNC machining and precision laser-cut holes to achieve a perfectly cylindrical shape and an edge-to-edge hole pattern that expands all the way to the outer rim of the base. The result is a significantly larger open surface area, less resistance to water flow, and a higher extraction yield — more total dissolved solids in every shot, translating directly into a richer, fuller-bodied espresso with greater flavour clarity. It's particularly effective with lighter roasts, where the added extraction surface helps unlock the more delicate and nuanced tasting notes that standard baskets often leave behind.
Engineering That Outperforms Pressed Baskets The He[%] is built from 1.1mm stainless steel — notably thicker than IMS or VST equivalents — which keeps the basket perfectly rigid during extraction. Thinner baskets can bow outward under pressure, disrupting puck integrity and leading to channelling. The He[%]'s flat, rigid base prevents this entirely, maintaining even water distribution across the puck for a more consistent extraction from first drop to last. The laser-cut holes are also measurably more accurate and more numerous than those produced by traditional press-and-polish manufacturing, with holes positioned closer to the edges than any comparable pressed basket can achieve.
Available in Four Sizes, Fits Most 58mm Setups The He[%] comes in four dose sizes — Small (15–17g), Medium (17–19g), Large (19–21g), and X-Large (21–22g) — to suit different baskets, machines, and brewing preferences. The basket fits all Pesado 58mm spouted, naked, and hybrid portafilters, and is compatible with a wide range of commercial 58mm machines including Ascaso, Bezzera, ECM, Expobar, La Marzocco, Nuova Simonelli, Rocket Espresso, and many more. Note: due to its 1.1mm thickness, the fit may be snug on some machines — but this rigidity also extends the life of your group head seal by maintaining a flat, consistent seating surface.
