The "naked" head exposes the bottom of your basket, allowing you to diagnose any channeling or issues with your shot. When you get the perfect extraction, you will see the true beauty of a perfect coffee forming before your eyes.
The premium modular handles have been developed for those with luxury in mind. Complement the metallic features in your coffee machine and home set up while utilizing the perfect balance of the stainless steel handle and head together. Choose from a wide range of metallic or wooden ends developed for those with luxury in mind, or treat yourself to our environmentally friendly, RAYA wooden handle.
This is the new hybrid version of the bottomless portafilter. The inside is threaded so that the portafilter can be converted in a spouted portafilter combining the best of both worlds, for the ultimate go-to portafilter that's versatile.

Note: Oak look is made of sustainable birch wood vacuumed dyed, coated in a heat and water resistant wax.
Over time splits or small cracks may appear in your wooden handles, this is the normal ageing process that occurs in all wood. The cracks will not affect the integrity of the handles, as the inner thread is 12mm wide by 80mm long. Be careful around water, please do not soak or leave any of our wooden handles wet as it can cause splitting.
The Gaggia Classic's Most Meaningful Upgrade The Gaggia Classic is a machine built to be modified — its longevity and community following exist precisely because it responds so well to incremental improvements. The portafilter is where most serious Gaggia owners start. Replacing the stock chrome-over-brass portafilter with the Pesado Stainless Steel Bottomless Hybrid immediately changes the relationship between you and the machine: the 304 stainless steel construction adds thermal stability at the group head interface, and the naked (bottomless) head makes every variable in your puck prep instantly visible. Fits all Gaggia Classic, Classic Pro, Classic Evo, Classic E24, and Classic Pro E24 models.
Naked and Spouted — One Portafilter, Both Modes The hybrid design is what separates this from a standard naked portafilter. The head is bottomless as standard, exposing the full basket base for unobstructed visual shot diagnosis — channelling, uneven flow, distribution issues all become immediately apparent. When you want a split shot or simply prefer the spouted format, the Pesado Hybrid Spout Attachment (sold separately) threads directly onto the head base in seconds, converting the portafilter from naked to spouted without tools or any additional hardware. The Gaggia Classic community has long relied on naked portafilters as a core diagnostic tool for dialling in — the hybrid format means you never have to choose permanently between the two modes.
Modular Handles, Your Finish, Basket Not Included The handle is fully modular: choose a black or white POM handle body (or Full POM, or Raya sustainable birch), then pair it with a metallic end piece in black, bronze, gold, or silver electro-polish, or a timber end piece in Iris or Riga vacuum-dyed birch. Every combination ships at checkout, and end pieces can be swapped at any time using the Pesado M12 x 80mm bolt. The Oak Look handle is sustainable birch, vacuum-dyed and wax-coated — small natural splits may develop over time without affecting structural integrity; avoid soaking or prolonged water exposure. Basket not included. Pairs naturally with the Pesado HD High Diffusion Gaggia Classic Shower Screen and the Pesado He[%] High Extraction Basket (58mm) for a complete Gaggia Classic precision extraction setup.
