Why the Interior is Black
Standard cupping bowls are white inside — and that turns out to be a problem. Human perception of taste is strongly influenced by visual cues: the colour and clarity of a brew in the cup primes expectations before the first sip, and those expectations shape what the palate actually registers. A dark roast in a white bowl looks different from a light roast, and that visual difference creates a bias that even experienced cuppers can't fully override. Rhino Coffee Gear's response was to make the interior black — removing the visual variable entirely. In a black-interior bowl, the colour and clarity of the coffee are invisible. The evaluation stays where it belongs: in the aroma and the taste.

SCA Standards, Ceramic Heat Retention
The Rhino Cupping Bowl is designed to meet Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) volume standards, making it appropriate for professional cupping sessions, competition use, and SCA-protocol evaluations as well as everyday home cupping. The internal diameter of approximately 87mm and capacity of approximately 220ml (7.43 fl oz) conform to the standard dimensions used across professional cupping tables worldwide.
