It does make a difference

The world of coffee is full to the brim with gadgets, tricks, tips, and upgrades. It's truly difficult to find a good piece of advice that is not countered by another. Baskets don't seems to fall in that category, but who can blame me for having doubt at first?
Thing is, using the DF64P grinder, I was lucky to not choke my shot at 30 or 35. I had 3 basket (1 pressurized I never used, a tapered double basket with no indication on how many grams, and a triple basket that wasn't the best). They all came with my first purchase (machine and portafilter), and did the job, or so I thought.
Putting my worries aside, I bit the bullet and got the VST 15g. At this price point, I felt like it would be a scam; a premium product for the sake of it. Well, I'm happy to say that I was wrong.
I can grind down to 20 and 25, extracting more flavours, more textures, and just enjoying my shot much more! Coffee enthusiasts and pros always tout the grinder as being the most important part of the whole espresso process, but I think it is useless without a good basket. Would certainly buy again.

Surprising . . .

Though many others have attested to this, I was astonished to find that a quality precision basket like the VST actually makes a substantial, positive difference in the resulting flavour. A very nice surprise . . .
